It might be a good idea to cultivate a marketplace for *talent*, not just printables: there's no-doubt a huge number of potential customers who would pay (either the original designer, or a new one) to have an existing design modified, or to commission an entirely new design of their own...

Including an option so that the buyer can allow the worker to re-sell the commissioned works might also help generate new content for the side as well as recurring additional income for the artist.

  I've commissioned an artist before. It was a huge hassle to find someone willing to do commissions because there wasn't really a place for it, so I second this idea.
